Education on Vietnamese Patriotism for Officers, Party Members, and Employees

Vietnamese patriotism is the core of Vietnamese thought, worldview, and perspective on life, serving as the nucleus of the great national solidarity bloc.

To promote the spirit of patriotism, it is necessary to raise awareness among officers, Party members, and all layers of the population about love for the country, revolutionary ideals, and steadfastness in achieving national independence linked with socialism, concretized into practical policies and emulation movements. Accordingly, political, ideological, ethical, and lifestyle education must help each individual—particularly officers, Party members, and employees (CB, ĐV & NLĐ)—understand patriotism according to Ho Chi Minh’s ideology. Practicing patriotism is a key factor contributing to the success of the revolutionary cause, and this patriotic spirit must also be reflected in the daily work of every officer, Party member, and employee.

Based on this reality, and following Guidance No. 40-HD/BTGTW dated September 1, 2017, of the Central Propaganda Department on implementing the “Vietnamese Patriotism” specialized training program for officers, Party members, and the people, the Party Cell of Thu Duc Housing Development Joint Stock Company (TDH) incorporated this content into the Q1/2021 specialized activity plan under the title: “Education on Vietnamese Patriotism for Officers, Party Members, and Employees.”

The reporting officer presented the topic comprehensively, explaining in detail and suggesting key points for the Party Cell discussion. Particularly, in relating to practical work within the unit, the Party Cell raised several insightful issues for further study to continually enhance patriotism among CB, ĐV & NLĐ. In summary, the session highlighted the following points:

Vietnamese Patriotism is the combination of knowledge, emotions, and willpower of the Vietnamese people, forming a strong spiritual motivation and promoting readiness to contribute to the country. There are three basic elements: knowledge, emotions, and will of the Vietnamese people. Patriotism is a sacred value shared by the entire Vietnamese nation and the Vietnamese community abroad, becoming a defining trait of Vietnamese character. Love for the country originates from affection for one’s homeland, bonds within local communities, and extends to the nation. Vietnam’s territory has experienced many cultural developments and upheavals, all integrating into the general flow of Vietnamese culture.

Education on Vietnamese Patriotism for CB, ĐV & NLĐ in the Current Period

Firstly, it is essential to cultivate deep national pride among CB, ĐV & NLĐ: pride in the country and its glorious traditions; nurturing aspirations, ambitions, and the determination to achieve the goal and ideal of “national independence linked with socialism.” Secondly, it must be realized through concrete actions, putting national interests above personal interests, serving the country and the people. The role of culture and education is indispensable in fostering patriotism. Each community, organization, and unit must provide a healthy cultural environment to educate and train moral character and lifestyle. Education on patriotism should be closely aligned with real-life requirements; ideological work should not only involve propaganda but also guidance on correct actions. Leaders and managers must set an example by integrating professional work with patriotic emulation movements, inspiring the broader community.

To achieve profound changes in the quality of patriotism education for CB, ĐV & NLĐ, it is necessary to continuously innovate and improve the content, diversify educational methods, and invest in facilities and technologies supporting patriotism education. Additionally, the roles of Party organizations, government bodies, and mass organizations must be promoted. Commemorative events and activities should be emphasized to foster patriotic spirit and enthusiasm among CB, ĐV & NLĐ, while also focusing on comprehensive development of Vietnamese people with a foundation in patriotism, national pride, ethics, lifestyle, and character, in line with Resolution 33-NQ/TW on “Building and Developing Vietnamese Culture and People to Meet the Requirements of Sustainable National Development.”

Practical Implementation of Patriotism Education in Daily Work

Recently, the unit has applied various measures to educate CB, ĐV & NLĐ on patriotism. The Party Cell particularly emphasized propaganda and education on patriotic spirit, diversifying patriotic emulation movements across all life sectors, aiming to nurture patriotism and political consciousness. For younger CB, ĐV & NLĐ, education focuses on internalizing patriotism, love for the people, self-reliance, and resilience, enabling them to continue the revolutionary work of previous generations and contribute to renewal, construction, and development of the unit and the country.

Goals for Enhancing Patriotism Education in the Future

• Educating National Pride: Develop deep national pride among CB, ĐV & NLĐ: pride in the country, historical traditions, national heroes, and cultural values.
• Educating Aspirations and Ambitions: Inspire ambitions and aspirations to achieve the goal of “a prosperous people, strong nation, democracy, fairness, and civilization.”
• Educating Work Ethic: Patriotism is expressed through concrete actions, contributing to the country and serving the people.
• Educating Perseverance and Determination: Instill firm determination to protect independence, sovereignty, national unity, and integrity, while combating bureaucracy, corruption, waste, and actions weakening the nation.
• Educating Genuine Patriotism Linked with Pure Internationalism: Fulfill international responsibilities according to principles, capabilities, and conditions, reflecting Vietnam’s contribution to the global revolutionary movement through successful renewal.

At the end of the session, the Party Secretary summarized that in the current period, it is necessary to continue applying and developing the perspectives and ideas presented in the specialized topic to build a strong Party Cell capable of meeting new challenges. Furthermore, the concepts of patriotism must be continuously applied and developed, as the patriotism of each Vietnamese citizen forms the foundation and collective strength of the nation. Ho Chi Minh’s ideology on patriotism continues to guide Vietnam in its renewal and international integration, offering both historical and contemporary significance as valuable lessons for all CB, ĐV & NLĐ to cultivate and practice.
